Massage and ADHD

I had the wonderful experience to massage a young boy ( 9 yrs old) who has been diagnosed with ADHD. His mom booked him for a 30 minute massage hoping it would help ease his mind and the tension in his shoulders and neck. As I was talking with the young boy before the massage about what would take place he was already half undressed taking off his shirt and ready to get on the massage table. So the massage started and I mentioned to the young boy to focus on the music and let your body be soft like a new fallen leaf floating on water.
This was an experience I will never forget, the young boy was so relaxed and calm he was actually snoring. During the massage I used warm stones and pressure points on his head and neck which seemed to be the trick for him, because he was "out of it." His mother has him scheduled for another massage next week, she was very happy of the outcome the massage had on her son, and actually shed a tear.
The power of touch is an amazing experience. I believe the young boy knew he was in the hands of a healer.

Client feedback

As I am in the middle of giving my client a massage, she takes a deep breath in and says," Massage is better than sex, and it lasts longer too." I cracked up laughing and so did she. She mentioned her and a few girlfriends were talking and they all agreed.

I did have permission to post this comment too by the way.

Tell me an experience you had with a client.

The Dalai Lama's Words of Wisdom

When our attitude towards our material possessions and wealth is not proper, it can lead to an extreme attachment towards such things as our property, houses and belongings. This can lead to an inability to feel contented. If that happens, then one will always remain in a state of dissatisfaction, always wanting more. In a way, one is then really poor, because the suffering of poverty is the suffering of wanting something and feeling the lack of it.

You don't have to wait until something goes wrong to get a massage

Massage therapy is something that can benefit people at any age or stage of life, from infant massage to hospice care. People are catching on to the fact that they don't have to wait until something goes wrong to get a massage. The last two decades have shown tremendous growth and interest in massage therapy and bodywork among consumers, as they pursue sports massage, stress reduction and the spa experience.

Research shows younger people have few misconceptions about what a professional massage entails. Before more recent challenges in the economy, men where showing new and noteworthy interest in massage. Don't wait until your in crisis mode get in and get a massage, do it for yourself. You should not feel guilty for taking care of yourself.

natural remedies for cold relief

Blow you nose often. Getting germs out is the best thing to do. Don't sniff mucus back into your throat, and be sure to wash your hands afterwards.

Take it easy. Resting when you aren't feeling well or are first coming down with cold or flu symptoms helps your immune system better fight the battle.

Drink hot liquids. Liquids are very important when you're not feeling well, and staying hydrated should be a top priority. Drinking some hot liquida when possible helps, as the warmth will relieve nasal congestion and soothe irritated nasal passages.
